Linlithgow is a magnificent roofless Palace situated just 15 miles from Edinburgh. The earliest records for the palace date back to 1301 and Edward I. Subsequent monarchs left their individual marks on the Palace until it was abandoned by the Duke of Cumberland's troops in 1746 when they set the building alight. The main feature of the castle is the remarkable central fountain in the main courtyard which was fully restored in 2005.
As a venue, the Undercroft room is available and this does have a vaulted ceiling and wooden floor and can accommodate 60 guests. The Great Hall is an open air space also for 60 guests. Linlithgow Palace is licensed for Civil Ceremonies.
The Palace is a very dramatic backdrop for wedding photography.
